As School Nutrition Director, you'll lead a student-focused kitchen in preparing nutritious and
appealing meals that meet all dietary and regulatory requirements. This is more than just a job—

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily breakfast and lunch operations
- Oversee food preparation and service using standardized recipes
- Ensure meals meet federal and state nutrition standards
- Maintain accurate production and meal cost records
- Manage food and supply orders, storage, and inventory
- Enforce safety and sanitation standards in all kitchen areas
- Supervise, evaluate, and train kitchen staff
- Prepare annual food services budget
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently; recommend new equipment
- Serve meals attractively to encourage student participation
- Perform other duties as needed to support school nutrition
Qualifications
- Preferred BS degree in Food Service Management or Nutrition; relevant experience may substitute
- Experience in quantity food preparation (school setting preferred)
- Ability to follow recipes and written instructions
- Ability to calculate figures and discounts
- Knowledge of food safety, health codes, and sanitation practices
- ServSafe Manager Certification preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a busy environment
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and teamwork mindset
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of employment and student matters
- Ability to comply with Board policies, rules, regulations, and directives
